Dumping Tweetbot in Protest (Updated)

I have long been a fan of the Tweetbot application, a full featured and powerful Twitter client for the iOS platform.  The application has basically everything I want in a twitter application: push notifications,  position and message read status sync, mute filters, and UI that just won't quit.  Well, that last part is really what is bothering me.  The iPhone version of Tweetbot was given an iOS 7 redesign during the latter half of 2013.  It is truly a sweet looking application.  Unfortunately, Tapbots have been really lagging in getting the iPad version of the app up to iOS 7 standards.  Since I use Tweetbot on the iPhone, iPad, and the Mac,  I prefer the experience to be top notch on each device. I can excuse an updated UI on the Mac since I spend very little time using Twitter on the desktop. However on the iPad, which I do use daily, the old style iOS 6 design of Tweetbot is wearing on me. It's annoying enough that I will cease to use it on the iPhone and iPad and will be replaced with IconFactory's Twitterrific 5.

Waiting for that Tweetbot elusive iPad update.......

Update: Twitterrific has stopped working over LTE for me and I am unable to send or receive tweets.  The app works when on wifi.  I will have to delete this app on the iPhone until the Iconfactory has a solution to get it working again.  I have tried force quitting the app and deleting and re-installing it.

Update 2: Finally figured it out. The cellular data setting was turned off for Twitterrific which was causing the app to not retrieve or send data over my LTE connection. Once I flipped the switch to enable data, the app worked like a charm.

I need the ease of use that os Tweetbot. I ise and play with both now but I go between accounts and TB just makes more information accessible at your fingertips than Twitteriffic does. You have to go to various screens to get the same info that TB gives you with just a tap.. Jerry you're a guy that wants weather with one tap, I am surprised that Twitterrific is cutting it for you. It takes too many taps to get to lists, direct messages and other accounts.

There's a very simple reason why I haven't minded what you mention above: basically I don't use Twitter lists. As for multiple accounts, I do rarely switch from JNGold over to the iOSDocked account but with Twitteriffic it's a very simple process to switch, just press and hold the account button and select the new account.

That being said, Tweetbot is the superior app overall with it's syncing and muting capability. I am not a fan of the muffled tweets in Twiterrific still showing (collapsed) in the timeline and the sync capability is not as robust as Tweetbot.

Overall though, I am pretty fed up with the iPad version of TB and will use Twitterrific on both iPhone and iPad to maintain the sync synergy until the point in time that Tapbots releases an update to the iPad version of Tweetbot.

Also, the comment of Twitteriffic taking too many clicks over TB is untrue for most of what you mention. The only thing that takes more clicks is lists. Otherwise DM's and direct reply's are one click away. Also with the latest update, Twitterific has a customizable last icon similar to TB that can be used to quickly switch the timeline to a list or favorites.

I see switching lists is only a swipe away. I mostly stay in my iOS list and occasionally switch to a regular timeline. But if i am in a list view (which i mostly live in) I have to swipe out of screen to get a new DM or read a tweet tweeted at me. Not so in TB the @ is a control right in wherever view I am in. And you're damned right, I don't want to see what I muted muffled and still in my timeline. What's the point? It looks pretty but TB handles power user tools more efficiently for my usage.

I will keep them both though. For now, TB will stay in my dock and I will keep using the hideousness that is the old iPad version. Lol

I have been using Twitteriffic for a while now. I am pretty much used to it. I just couldn't stand that lack of update on the iPad any longer and I need my devices to work together i.e. Timeline's syncing that can only happen if I'm using the same app on both devices. I am so frustrated with TB for not updating for so long, not sure I'll ever go back to it, even though you can post multiple photos in one tweet. They can do that but not update the iPad app? Give me a break!
